 Dr. Burger’s passion for Family Medicine started with his clinical training in South Africa, followed by four years in England. In these places, his skill as a clinician was honed while working in internal medicine, ob-gyn, pediatrics, and the emergency room. Family Medicine, with the opportunity for long-term patient relationships, greater understanding of disease, and an investment in the health of your whole family became his passion. Dr. Burger completed further training at the Medical University of South Carolina, and in the low-country found a new place to call home. Board Certified in Family Medicine, he joined Dorchester Medical Associates in 2006, caring for an array of acute to chronic conditions from the very young to the very old. Dr. Burger provides personalized healthcare for you and your family by investing in a long-term relationship built on understanding.
